Play in calm waters of Solidao
Solidao beach is hidden in the canopy of nature and is drenched in beauty and tranquility. Because of its existence in solitude, the beach is called Solidao for the past few decades. Ranked amongst the oldest beaches of the Pacas River, the Solidao beach is a small cove for the people who want to relax in nature’s lap. This beach is also considered as the one of the most fascinating landscapes of Santa Catarina, considered as next to paradise.
The white sand, crystal clear water and the adjacent greenery provides the perfect scenery. The waterfall emerges from between the trees and takes the form of a swimming pool which is filled with natural water. The River of the Pacas meets the sea of the Solidao beach, which makes the Solidao beach the best option for people who want to avoid the agitated waves of the sea. It is a favorite outing for children who love to bath and play in the calm waters of the river. The water of the river cushions the beatings of the sea waves, which helps in the creation of a deep contouring beach with soft and delicate white sands.
The beach is also popular with surfers providing food quality of waves. But, only experienced surfers are advised to venture out in the waters. The direction of waves is towards the right. The bottom of the waters is sandy with rocks. The waves are fast and powerful with a normal length varying from 50 meters to 150 meters. The wind direction is east and the swell direction is south and southeast. The swell starts from 3 feet and goes as high as 10 feet.
The area surrounding the sea is filled with many age old traditions. The local occupation is fishing. The fishermen spread out their nets in the sea to catch fishes to earn their livelihood. This explains the stationing of lots of boats on Solidao beach. The Solidao beach starts from the tip of the Pacas, in the north, and stretches till Pantano do Sul. The best way to reach Solidao beach is by walking and hence tourist who have stamina to walk should opt for this place. Cars can also be used for transportation here, but lots of inclines will be encountered in the path.
The distance of Solidao beach from the center of Florianopolis is thirty kilometers when traveling by car. The route leads in the direction of the Pantano do Sul. Once Acores is entered, signs are found everywhere which lead to the Solidao beach. The beach is extremely crowded on weekends and thus weekdays are advisable for a visit. Visitors should be careful of the rocks in the waters and also behave cordially with locals.
