Morro das Pedras Beach, also called the Mount of the Rocks, is situated in the south of the Island of Florianopolis. Morro das Pedras beach provides a spectacular sight of the nature which cannot be appreciated in words. Morro das Pedras beach is located in between the Armaco beach and Campeche beach.

Continuation of the Armaco beach, Morro das Pedras beach is frequented by tourist and lovers of surfing sport. The waves are of good quality and are consistent (150 days in a year). Only experienced surfers are recommended to surf in this beach due to wild waves which also keeps the lifeguards on alert most of the times. The waves come from both left and right direction. The bottom of the waters is sandy with rock. The waves near the coast are also something to be cautious of. The waves are fast, hollow and powerful in nature. Normal length of the wave is up to 50 meters that goes up to 150 meters on a good day. The swell starts at 3 feet and goes up to 8 feet. The direction of swell is east, southeast, south and northeast whereas the wind direction is north, west, northwest, northeast and southwest.

Morro das Pedras beach is twenty two kilometers from the center of Florianopolis, if traveling by car. To reach this beach, the south exit must be taken and the road should be taken according to the indications leading towards the Pantano do Sul beach. When it is reached, the Morro das Pedras beach can be spotted right in front of it. The beach is moderately crowded on weekdays and crowded on weekends. When visiting this beach be mindful of the rocks in the water and behave cordially with the locals especially in the waters otherwise you might be taken out of the waters.
