Lagoinha beach, popularly known as Beach of Lagoinha or Lagoinha do Leste, is also one of the oldest beaches existing since many decades and is home to many historians and inhabitants who lived here. The beach of the Lagoinha gives a sight to the island of the Pontal, that is about 3Km of distance and has a small beach; the island of the Maranduba, almost total hidden in the mountain, that also has one beach; the beach of Pulso and Caçandoca. The beach of Lagoinha was primarily used for fishing now has evolved into a top class health resort. The beach got its name from its physical characteristic of a small lagoon. The beach is roughly 800 metres long and width varying from 12 metres to 35 metres. The beach is surrounded by mountains covered by thick vegetation.

The Lagoinha beach is popular for its clear blue waters, calm waves, pleasant temperature of the water and fine sandy dunes. One of the other characteristics of the beach is the depth of the sea goes down smoothly. Move away from the busy highway and you have beach of Lagoinha that has all the ingredients of an ideal family destination.

One can surf in the majestic waves, swim in the crystalline blue waters, sun bath, practice diving, and get tan and what not. It is a paradise for surfers as the waves are of world class quality and quite consistent (about 150 days a year). The waves are powerful and up to 50 metre long on a normal day whereas it can be as long as 150 metre on a good day. The swell direction is east, northeast, south, southeast and southwest. The direction of wind is usually west, north, northwest, northeast and southwest.

The beach is approximately 37 kilometres from the downtown. If driving, follow the access to SC-401 until it takes you to Bravo Beach where it will start showing signs to Lagoinha Beach. There is also a bus service maintained by Canasvieiras Company responsible for urban transportation. If walking it is a 45 minutes from Pantano do Sul beach which is a beautiful experience. Visitors can ask anybody in Patana do Sul and they will guide them to Lagoinha Beach. The beach is empty on weekdays and moderately crowded on weekends.

There are reasonable number of restaurants and lodgings available around Lagoinha Beach. Some of the inns or called pousadas in local language are Vigia Pousada, Recanto das Flores and Cana Caiana Pousada.
