Cachoeira do Bom Jesus Beach is located at 27 kilometres from the centre of the city and 39 kilometres from the airport. Although Cachoeira do Bom Jesus is one of the oldest localities of city of Florianopolis with a population of about 15,000 but Cachoeira do Bom Jesus Beach came to be recognised only after 1960 as the people were too busy with agriculture and cared little about fishing. One of the other reasons is district headquarters being too far from the beach. It was earlier known as Beach of Canna Vieiras as it was popular for variety of sugar cane crops. The district is endowed with an excellent complex meant for tourist services. Cachoeira do Bom Jesus beach is excellent which is frequented not only by locals but also thousands of outside visitors owing to its robust infrastructure which includes high quality recreational guest houses, restaurants, pubs and hotels.
Cachoeira do Bom Jesus beach is about 2.8 kilometres long with a width that varies from 5 metres to 30 metres. The beach is characterized by clean & green waters, fine white sands, soft waves and pleasant temperature of the waters usually around 23 degrees Celsius to 26 degrees. The beauty of this beach is further enhanced by blue sky, green hills and a small waterfall called Seio.
The beach is well connected to the rest of the city by public transportation. Cachoeira do Bom Jesus beach is home to some of the best restaurants in Florianopolis offering mouth watering cuisines to the visitors. The choice of restaurants is unlimited. One of them is Ristorante II Caravggio which offers the visitors with Italian food offering 25 types of sumptuous dishes. There are manu good quality inns or called Pousada in local language, in the vicinity of Ristorante II Caravggio beach like Recanto dos Bambus, Vivendas do Lago, Flor da Cachoeira and Residencial Genesis offering highest level of comfort and service.
